# Whisperly

> Whisperly is a macOS menu-bar app that turns your voice into clean, ready-to-send text. You press a hotkey, speak, and polished text is pasted at your cursor in any Mac app. It removes fillers and false starts and fixes punctuation without rewriting your voice, and it can translate as you dictate.

Whisperly is voice-to-text for people who don't want a raw transcript. The output is text you'd actually send, not a literal record of you talking. It is Mac only and lives in the menu bar.

## What it does

- **Clean-up mode (Free):** removes fillers ("um", "so yeah"), false starts and hedges, fixes punctuation, keeps your wording. The everyday mode.
- **Raw mode (Free):** verbatim transcription with punctuation only.
- **Translate (Pro):** dictate in one language, paste a clean version in another. Roughly 99 auto-detected input languages, 90+ target languages.
- **Tones:** preserve (default, keeps your voice), neutral, casual, formal. Non-preserve tones are Pro.
- **Custom vocabulary:** teach it names, jargon and product terms so they transcribe correctly.
- **Works anywhere:** any Mac app with a text field. Pasted at your cursor in about a second.

## Platform

- macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel.
- No Windows, iOS, web or mobile version.
- Distributed as a direct download (not the Mac App Store). Developer ID signed, notarized, and auto-updates silently in the background.

- **Free, forever:** 2,000 words per week, Clean-up and Raw modes, preserve tone, 5 vocabulary terms. No credit card.
- **Pro, $14/month:** unlimited words, Translate, all four tones, unlimited vocabulary.
- New signups get 14 days of full Pro with no credit card. At the end it lapses to Free with no auto-charge and nothing to cancel.

## Privacy

- Audio is sent over HTTPS, transcribed and cleaned, then discarded.
- Audio is never stored and never used to train models.
